Maybe viral.: What makes you think you have no virus infection? A viral infection of the throat occasionally hurts on only one side.

the sides of my throat has been red for almost 6 weeks now. i am very worried because i already went to the doctor and he said it was a small virus?

Could be allergies: typically allergic rhinitis also known as hay fever causes post nasal drip chronically and irritate throat ,sometimes causing cobble stone sign on your pharynx

Needs recheck.: If symptoms persist and worsen over 2 weeks, you need to be re-evaluated by a physician.  Many possibilities could exist depending on other symptoms and you may require further therapy including antibiotics, allergy meds or possibly even reflux medications.

my kids and husband definitely have a head cold of some kind(coughs/congestion). my son was the only one that puked with his symptoms. if i caught their cold virus,is it possible to just have a dry irritated throat and nothing else?

Cancer: This can be a cancer or precancerous growth area. You should see an ENT shortly for evaluation and piece of mind.

Virus symptoms/signs: Most infectious agents tend to elevate temperature, depending on viral load. And "normal" temps (even in a single individual) very widely during the day--lower in the morning and higher evening by up to a degree. Other than a routine throat culture for strep (a bacteria) which requires antibiotics, there is no reason to visit a physician if if you are otherwise feeling OK.

Talk to dentist?: A viral sore throat does not last 14 days and would not migrate to under the tongue. There is some inflammation going on and perhaps your dentist can provide a better answer.  I am concerned that you may have an abscess either originating from a tooth or remotely the sinus.

i would like to do a throat and mouth swab test for the hpv virus. one clinic offers me an hpv urine test. is hpv present in the whole body, so this test would also be fine, or do i have to do a targeted search?

: The virus usually infects cavities or surfaces like penis, vagina throat etc and not the whole body. Your doc will order the appropriate area/areas test

using marijuana vaporizer lately. throat is sore & irritated on right side, it radiates to ear. not painful. usually when i get sore throat it's with a cold virus, not this time. cancer?

Hope no cancer: I suspect you do not have cancer  but  i prefer you let doc look at your throat. You may have irritation from the vapor.  You may have strep throat. You will not be satisfied until a doctor examines you and reassures you. Good luck and do the right thing.
