Sacroiliitis: Inflammation of the sacroiliac joint can mimic a ruptured disc in the back with radiating leg pain. By pushing over the dimple in the low right part of the back pain will be elicited (fortin test). See a chiropractor or neurosurgeon to obtain relief of the pain.

Need more info: What level of spine was the mri--cervical, thoracic or lumbar? What neurological exam findings do you have? How did you injure your back, was it one acute accident or years of wear & tear? Likely, thoracic para spinal muscle spasm would not cause leg pain, but this really is a question for your neurologist. Good luck!

Needs evaluation: For these symptoms, one should be evaluated by a team consisting of a pulmonary doctor, a neurologist and perhaps a cardiologist. One must distinguish between serious neurologic problems such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and more benign problems such as deconditioning, emphysema, etc.

Shrugs: Tearing a muscle is one of the most painful things you can imagine, and would not make a cracking sound.  I suspect that if you are not in pain now and have normal range of motion and strength then it was more likely due to popping some ligamentous joints, similar to popping a knuckle.

That should tell you: You have answered the question yourself. The body was not meant to remain hunched over like that for 13 hours. It is a symptom that you asked your muscles do do something too long and they are telling you. They are fatigued and overworked. Don't abuse your body like that and you will be much happier.

It can. : 'muscle burn' occurs when you exercise strenuously enough to build muscle, and peaks at 24-72 hrs. It is caused by micro- tears in the muscle itself, which leads to the muscle to rebuild. If it lasts for 5 days, it means these micro-tears in your upper back are too overstretched and you will need to avoid mm strengthening exercise for about a week. Do light activities.Restart then every 2-3 days.

Back pain: In a young person is usually of musculoskeletal origin. You may try to return to exercise and avoid painful activities. If the pain still doesn't resolve you may want to seek medical attention for some manual therapy from an osteopathic physician, physical therapist, etc.
