Possible reinfection: You could be exhibiting signs of an infection under the tooth in the bone.  Call your dentist.  Once he has determined the source, which tooth, the infection can be controlled with antibiotics.  When you are comfortable and more apt at making a good decision, you can look at options to correct problem.

CBCT: It might be a bite problem, a micro fracture in the tooth or root, an unfilled accessory canal or some other problem that cannot be seen either on clinical exam or with 2-dementional x-ray. You might want to have a consult with an endodontist who can take a cbct (cone beam ct 3d scan) which often shows previously undetectable problems. Or you can wait it out awhile longer.

Normal: You often have temporary pain in a tooth just restored. Take OTC meds. See your dentist. A small percentage of patients require root canal treatment of the decay was close to the pulp chamber.

Molar extraction: Maybe maybe not. The physical experience of extraction is unlikely to be diminished due to a prior root canal. Despite the break of the tooth, you can still opt for a crown on that molar. Discuss with your dentist and try to preserve teeth as it helps prevent atrophy of mandible and maxilla.
