Not typically : A ureteral stent does not usually cause constipation.   However,  the narcotic pain medicines that are taken for kidney stones and for the stent can cause constipation.

Constipation: This may very well be related to your bowel recovering from a bout of drug(likely opioid) induced constipation. Sometimes, when motility is acute affected it can take time for things to normalize.  You may want sure your fiber intake is good, along with you staying hydrated, and active(activity helps constipation).  If things fail to resolve in the next several days to week seek in person help.

Doubtful: A stone in the bladder that is not obstructing the bladder outflow should not be causing you obvious symptoms. I assume your urination is normal?

Prune juice: Prune juice is the way to go. Also MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) and high fiber diet and exercise.

Could be stone: It is not feasible to rule out kidney stone without imaging. However, you can address constipation by taking fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless.

Common: Sensations are the feeling you have to have a bm (tenesmus) but cannot.  Waves of cramping pain, severe enough can cause nausea and vomiting.  Men have pain referred into testicle. Stones warrant emergency teatment, evaluation for cause and prevention, and follow up.

1-2 Liters of water: 8-10 glasses of filtered water daily.
May add coconut water 4-5/week.
Plenty of fresh vegetables & greens should help constipation.

Please see your Dr.: First, see your doctor and discuss this problem with her/him.

High fiber diet (beans/lentils, whole grains, vegetables and fruit with the skin where appropriate).

Plenty of water - up to 2 liters a day.

Consider a stool softener.
