Multiple projections: A  ct cross-sectional image (slice) is reconstructed from a combination of xrays shot from multiple directions/projections; therefore, there is no overlap of body parts and much better contrast compares to traditional xray images..

Depends.: For kidney stones we use no contrast, but we don't get as good a look at the solid organs. Contrast is usually helpful, but not always necessary.

Obvious: A hysterectomy should be pretty obvious on ct scan. Things will be missing and there may be surgical clips.

Yes: The ovaries are notoriously difficult to characterize on ct, and can be mistaken for lymph nodes, loops of bowel, or other abdominal contents.  Ultrasound or MRI are better modalities for identifying the ovaries.

Accepted Answer

Not definitively: Most meningiomas are not cancerous; sometimes the ct scan findings ((bone destruction, brain swelling, cystic change in tumor, etc.) can suggest a cancerous behavior. In some cases pet scans may be helpful. Ultimately, the definitive diagnosis can only be made by pathology review after surgery. Surgery is the usual treatment of choice for both ususal and cancerous meningioma anyway.
