Depends: If both contain similar ingredients, then you may get an overdose of the medication. As for safety, we will need to know what the exact medications are to give you an answer.

Start Lower: I would start with a lower dose of melatonin for a child this age, 1 to 3 mg. Be sure to limit screen time in evenings, warm bath, low lights, reading in room 30 minutes before bed.  Also try baking a turkey breast, and popping four ounce servings in the freezer.  Heat up for a snack with some milk one hour before bed.   You may be able to wean from melatonin to the natural foods with tryptophan.

can i take similasan nasal allergy relief twice a day?

Accepted Answer

Yes: This is a homeopathic saline nasal spray that can be used "as needed".  It should be safe to use several times a day for symptoms of allergy.  You are probably benefiting most from the saline itself, as this helps to shrink nasal membranes and may help some allergy symptoms.

i took equaline allergy relief pill 2 hrs ago. think i'm getting a cold so i want to take cvs multi-sympton night time sinus relief. can i take both?

Accepted Answer

Likely OK: However since both preparations contain antihistamines and i presume that the cvs product contains a decongestant as well, you may end up a little more drowsy or excited by taking both within 4 hrs .    The stimulant effects may trigger an anxiety attack. 
If nasal congestion is the primary concern, afrin nasal spray 2x daily for up to 5 days may be better tolerated.

can i take allergy relief pill the next day after having alcohol?

Accepted Answer

: Yes. Alcohol leaves the system rapidly in most, 1/2 within 2-3 hrs and all within 8 or so. There would be minimal if any chance of overlap producing added sedation if it is a common antihistamine. In several on the newer non-sedating antihistamines  there would be no problems.

Options to treat: 1. AVOIDANCE (strategies depend on what you're allergic to.  For pollen use A/C, close windows, wash face and hands when you get home)
2. nasal steroid spray
3. antihistamine nasal spray
4. antihistamine eye drops
5. allergy shots

Accepted Answer

Absolutely: This should be safe for you to do. This is actually something I recommend to a lot of my patients with allergies, especially if they have nighttime symptoms that stop them from sleeping. You might want to add OTC Flonase to your regimen as well if the antihistamines aren't cutting it for you.

what is the difference between allegra (fexofenadine) and flonase for allergy relief -take one or both?

Accepted Answer

Flonase better: Allegra is an atihistamine and is helpful for itchiness, sneezing and a runny nose, not helpful for congestion.  Flonase, an intranasal steroid covers all these symptoms plus congestion. Head to head studies comparing Flonase to antihistamines, singulair, (montelukast) or sudafed showed that Flonase beat them all.  I usually suggest daily Flonase and adding an antihistamine on as needed or supplemental basis.

my son 11 months 22lb has hayfever found allergy relief for 1 year old it's chlorphenamine maleate 2mg/5ml dosage 2.5ml can he take this amount?

Accepted Answer

Infant care: Infant is too young for this medication  general use.  Talk to your pediatrition for alternative means of treatment -  look into what may be causing the. " allergy" symptoms . Common household exposures. , dust , animal dander, dust mites , mold  and food groups  can be the culprit to these  " allergy" symptoms especiall if infants symptoms are chronic or recurring. Wish you well.

i have been diagnosed as having liver disease. should i take claritin (loratadine) for allergy relief?

Accepted Answer

Meds adjustment: You can take the same Claritin (loratadine) dose but space it out every other day instead of everyday if you have liver failure. If you have chronic liver disease but your liver functions well, Claritin (loratadine) can be taken as regular doses and frequency.
