Relax: Herpes on the face, hsv1, is very common but most people have no symptoms. Most likely you already carry hsv1 and cannot get it again. People who have the virus will sometimes have it on the lip, but most days there is no virus there in the absence of a sore. So your risk is small.

Not spread via water: Hepatitis C is spread when blood from a person infected with the hepatitis C virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. Hepatitis C is not spread by sharing eating utensils, breastfeeding, kissing, holding hands, coughing, or sneezing. It is also not spread via food or water. And so a canker sore should not increase chances of spread via water unless blood is present. Best of luck!

Very low risk: HIV is almost never transmitted by oral sex. One estimate is one transmission for every 10,000 penis-to-mouth exposures, i.e. giving oral to infected men once daily for 27 years before transmission might be likely. Oral sores might increase the risk, but the chance is already so low that it makes little difference. You should have asked him about HIV status before sex! Yes, you should be tested.

Most don't: The mouth is pretty good at fighting off infections and most canker sores don't get infected.  But if it is swollen and hot feeling, or has any exudate, you better see a dentist.   Just because it has a whitish appearance to it, doesn't mean it's infected.
