Only in excess: Many studies have shown that a woman who drinks one alcoholic beverage a day or a man who has 2 drinks will live longer than those who drink more or less alcohol. Higher intakes can effect metabolism including calcium especially if there is a poor nutritional intake.

could taking exforge every morning for several years eventually impact my metabolism in a way to cause body-wide fasciculations? i understand amlodipine as a component of exforge is a calcium channel blocker. perhaps it is related?

Fasciculations: Are you confusing fasciculations with muscle twitches, cramps, spasms,fibrillation? The valsartan molecule in exforge may cause high potassium levels which can cause muscle cramping although not as common as low potassium. Have your physician check you and  order an analysis of your blood electrolytes, BUN ,creatinine, calcium and magnesium levels

Not known to but...: I admire your persistence in asking this. I think the reason no one answered yet is no one knows, though i know of no evidence of this ; can think of no mechanism via which this might happen. Kidney stones.: If the high calcium is due to parathyroid hormone kidney stones and bone loss may occur over time.  A diagnosis of the cause is necessary for proper treatment.

Sort of …..: Every one is unique and that affects the way you absorb medication and the way it is metabolized in your body and the effect is has on your body.  That is why a single medication for a single problems does not treat everyone successfully.

Different: They are different componenets of prevention of osteoporosis.
Follow your doctor's advice about how to take them.

Not advisable: Kre alkalyn and other creatine supplements can impaire kidney function, especially in people who might be susceptible.  Having hypoparathyroidism puts you at risk for kidney stones and kre alkalyn can increase your risk as well.

do calcium supplements interfere with the absorption of some medications?

Accepted Answer

Yes.: They can significantly lower the amount of thyroid hormone that gets absorbed.  Because calcium is a positively charged ion, it can bind to any negatively charged chemical, including levothyroxine.  Spacing the thyroid hormone at least 2 hours from calcium (including antacids such as tums), iron, multi-vitamins, and certain other meds can help keep thyroid blood levels stable.

can i take advil with betahistine dihydroc16mg? is ther any medication to avoid with it? i usally take calcium magnesium daily. is that ok with it?

Ok with advil: I did not see interaction with advil. It is ok to use with advil. It is ok with Calcium-mag.

antihistamines or other beta2-agonists or monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
