Challenge test: Other than watching to see what happens after you drink caffeine, no blood or other testing is available.

No problem: Caffeine has no effects on any blood tests. Drink as much coffee or other caffeine drinks as you like, right up until you are tested. It won't make any difference.

: I cannot think of how it would but would depend on exactly how it is being measured in MO.  Check with lab or as I say, having been born in MO: Show me!

how to treat anxiety symptoms (tinnitus, constant lightheaded) that caused by to many drinking caffeine? how to check if i'm overdose? blood test?

Easiest way: The easiest way to determine whether caffeine is causing or exacerbating anxiety is to stop using it for a time -- and see if symptoms go down.  Be aware that if you're accustomed to drinking many cups of coffee, caffeinated soda, energy drinks, etc daily,  you may have some withdrawal symptoms for a couple of days.  Headaches, flu-like symptoms, tiredness, etc. Tapering could be better.

cramps in stomach mainly in the morning made worst by caffeine and relieved by lying down. all blood test, ultra sound and h pylori test normal.

Possibly stress.: This sounds like a general symptom that might be associated with stress or anxiety, possibly from the tests just done.  If the tests were not done, i would have suggested a possible stomach ulcer.  I would say relaxation, less caffeine, a bland diet (milk, vegetables), and rest should help a lot.  If not, go back to your doctor, and get checked again.

is cardiac neurosis or cardiac anxiety curable and whats the treatment and are they life threatening im 23 my ecg says i only have si us tachycardia and my echo is perfect my blood test is normal im smoker but i quit and i stopped caffeine completely?

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Check it out: Anxiety has many symptoms, some of which are not so obvious.  First check with your PCP.  Some physical conditions such as hypoglycemia or mitral valve prolapse can cause these symptoms.  If this is not the case, perhaps you need to see a mental health professional to see if you have issue of which you are not aware.

Elevated glucose: Caffeine can increase glucose levels.

Is your diabetes  diet controlled or on medication?   It is not uncommon to have some variation in blood glucose (you did not indicate your baseline). Monitor your diet/AM fasting glucose . Over time some diet controlled diabetics need medication and those on meds need readjusting. Also infections can increase glucose.106 is not bad.

In a way, yes: If you fast for longer than a day or so, it will alter some blood chemistries. Fasting tests are usually set for an overnight fast, or a 12 hour fast. Prolonged fasting is starvation and it affects the body metabolism.

can you have a cup of tea before a fasting blood test?

Accepted Answer

You shouldn't: While the tea by itself is considered a "liquid" only, you may mix it with sweetner or cream. Further, there can be stimulating effects, which may have a change in your glucose or Insulin release. Just better to have water only.
