Nope: The caffeine is your diuretic. Unless you're diabetic, in which case the excess sugar load could also be a diuretic, but in either case, caffeine free diet soda should be about 1:1 for in to out ratio.

diurex caffeine free diuretics  (pamabrom 50mg) it says take 1 but it doesn't work unless i double the dose, is this dangerous?

Why are you taking: it? Was it prescribed by a doctor? Even over the counter drugs can have undesired effects. It would be prudent to discuss it with your doctor as self medicating is not a good practice. You may visit this site for info:

Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

It doesn't : Coffee does not cause edema.  If this is happening see your physician.

is there anything i can take to attenuate the diuretic effects of caffeine? i drink coffee to take exams but don't want to have to urinate frequently.

Accepted Answer

Not that I know of: There is no remedy for the diuretic effect of caffeine.  Try half caf,  but do it in advance of your next exam so you can wean yourself off.  You don't want to have the side effects of caffeine withdrawal during an exam.

None: There are better options for menstrual cycle control and PMS symptoms than diuretics. Birth control pills, Nuvaring, the patch and Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD are a few examples and are less dangerous than diuretics

i know caffeine in coffee is diuretic, but can it actually irritate the bladder? received k-cup brewer as a gift. have noticed only on days i drink a cup that i have to go more and more urgently. caffeinated tea & other drinks don't have that effect?

Caffeine: Caffeine can be a bladder irritant causing urinary frequency in small amounts, but I wouldn't expect any burning on urination. You may note absence of symptoms when you drink decaffeinated coffee. I presume there's less caffeine in the other beverages.

i'm taking otc caffeine/diuretic for competition; also imodium (loperamide) for the loose stools it cause. is that counterproductive? can i take both at same time?

Neither: Dehydration and potential fluctuation in electrolytes could impact your performance.

No--it constricts: Caffine is a stimulant and has diuretic properties. It actually has some vasal constrictive property--though mild...

4-5 hours after drinking coffee(decaf) or iced tea i start feeling jittery, heart rate goes up, feel weak in my legs&arms,and kind of dizzy. i cant figure out is it due to caffeine or due to its diuretic properties?why do symptoms appear 4-5 later?

: If what you describe does that then best is to stop taking that. However decaf tea and coffee have very small amount of caffeine- generally not enough to cause the symptoms you describe- unless you are supersensitive to that. To find  if other reasons causing this pl see your doc
