c-section pain 3 years later? i had a c-section 3 years ago, i am experiencing pain where i had stitches, is this common?

It can happen: But ideally you should not, you need to see your obgyn to be evaluated with an exam , blood work and an ultrasound as you may have scar tissue or a stitch granuloma or other conditions causing the pain.

It can be normal: It can be normal ,but keep an eye on your symptoms if they get worse you may need imaging

No: This med is not intended for intravaginal use. You run the risk of damaging the lining of the vagina.

please write strongest pain medication, complete drug plan for post c-section pain. i chose c-section with general anesthesia. i don't want spinal or epidural?

Accepted Answer

A choice: Depending on your hospital policies and procedures, you could have a spinal or an epidural. Those are preferrable to general anesthesia which can get to the baby in just a few minutes and increase the risk to the baby of respiratory distrress. An advantage to the epidural is that it can be left in place for 24 hours after surgery, allowing you significant pain relief in the first post op day.

took a percocet for c-section pain now severe diarrhea also stomach pain is this normal?

Accepted Answer

No: No. Percocet should not cause diarrhea. If anything, narcotics should cause constipation rather than diarrhea and the Percocet should make your pain should be better. You may have a GI problem. Contact your Ob for help if the C- section was within the last 6 weeks. Best wishes for you and your baby.

Ovarian pain: The pain can be from many sources: endometriosis, scar tissue (adhesions), cysts, ruptured cyst...See your gyn doc.

Pregnancy/surgery: During pregnancy it is best to avoid surgery unless there is an emergency situation. With your old c-section scar, you might benefit from a scar revision. Okay to ask your OB doc about this upcoming delivery. If you have another c-section, your OB might release the old scar, and/or revise it at the time of delivery. Good luck.

Maybe: Though suspect post-op symptoms. That being said if pain worsens, continues or is associate with other worrisome signs then best to be evaluated. Only way to know for sure is an exam and possible ct.

Maybe: There are a variety of aches and pains that are normal after surgery. Best however to call for a follow up exam with your OB doctor to check your wound, and make sure there is not a late infection or hernia. See them this week. Hope this helps!

Hello. : Hello. An incisional hernia can occur in an area where there was a surgical incision. The muscle has usually weakened and it allows some of the abdominal contents to poke through at times. I would ask your surgeon what activities he recommends. He might not have any recommendations to restrict activities. However if you have a bulge that is not easily and gently reducible (pushed back in) at it causes nausea or pain - then some bowel could be entrapped. It this were to occur you would want to be seen very quickly, so that a loop of bowel did not strangulate. For laproscopic surgery, the admission is usually less than 24 hours.
