can i take benadryl, (diphenhydramine) buspirone, and sertraline together? before bed? i know it will probably increase drowsiness,  i just want to make sure it's safe.

Accepted Answer

Not a good idea: It is usually not a good idea to take several medications with similar ( but not identical) actions  without a doctor's supervision.  One may get away with it, but then why take a chance?

Accepted Answer

Yes: That's not at all an unusual combination and those are small doses for both meds. Most people will need to gradually increase the zoloft (sertraline) to get to a therapeutic dose and will most likely need to gradually increase the Buspirone as well in order to get any advantage from it.

Accepted Answer

No: In my practice, with my patients, I have not seen a patient with fatigue caused by either zoloft (sertraline) or buspirone, either along or together.
If you are taking them for depression and anxiety, fatigue may be caused from either underlying condition.
Please consult with your treating physician.

30/f/overweight. no health conditions except anxiety. no family history of heart issues. suffering with pvcs/sinus arrhythmia. blood pressure/ekg/echo all normal. 200mg sertraline, 10mg buspirone, 2.5mg bisoprolol. will my heart stop? i'm scared?

: PVCs and sinus arrhythmia are very common and do not result in heart stopping. If you have not had a thorough work up, it is possible to get a second opinion, but it sounds as though your doctor has been fairly thorough already. Perhaps a discussion with your doctor whether a referral for better control of your anxiety may be useful, if the doctor is comfortable with the heart rhythm. Good luck.

what happens if i quit taking  my medicationa setraline and buspirone cold turkey? i have felt pretty tired during the day... is this a cause?

Road kill: If you go off them cold - turkey you may feel a bit like road kill (which can include fatigue).

i am on 10 mg 2x/day of buspirone and 200 mg of zoloft 1x a day! i accidentally took a 3rd buspirone instead of my zoloft! am i going to be okay?! can i still take my zoloft ??

Accepted Answer

: If you've been taking these 2 medications all along without problems, taking a third buspirone, an antianxiety medication, may only increase sedative effects. I wouldn't drive for the remainder of the day or evening. I would still take your zoloft as I wouldn't expect any ill effects of doing so. Your physician or pharmacist can validate this advice.

i started zoloft 4 weeks ago. the first week was 25mg then 50mg for 3 weeks and now to 75mg 5 days ago. i cant tell if zoloft is working or making me feel worse. i wake up feeling very anxious and struggle until i take a dose of buspirone?

: What reason was zoloft added on top of buspirone then?
