endoscopy couple yrs ago all good with biopsy but gi consultant said i get inflammation from time to time so take ,for short time, lansoprazole or ranatidine ,what causes this?back on lansoprazole few weeks from acid vapour at night burping a lot too

Inflammation: If you're referring to recurrent gastritis(inflammation of the stomach lining),symptoms can recur from dietary indiscretions, stress, alcohol, caffeine, certain medications like Advil,aspirin,Aleve and nicotine.

Common problem: Try some lifestyle changes such as smaller meals, not eating late at night, and elevating head of bed. Can also try antacids, carafate, (sucralfate) tagamet, zantac, etc.

Constipation: All mentioned drugs can cause constipation as a side effect and your symptoms are strongly suggesting severe constipation/ obstruction. Depending upon the time you had your last BM make sure you start with a laxative suppository, such as Dulcolax/enema. If no success seek immediate medical attention as your symptoms are suggesting bowel obstruction.

Probably: Nausea with or without vomiting is common in children. Most of the time, the cause is not serious. The symptoms usually go away in a day or two and can be managed at home. However, there are times when you should alert your child's doctor immediately.

GIZ distress: If you have acid reflux it can be quite serious. Seek evaluation by a specialist Gastroenterologist.

Reflux: Your symptoms can be a sign of gerd, which can cause abdominal pain and belching at night when a patient lays down.  See a doctor for further evaluation and management.  You can try some zantac (ranitidine) or Prilosec in the meantime.

Change feeding habit: Try not to eat to late at night or to close to the ti of going to sleep. Avoid food rich in carbs and spices sodas or excess of beer. Gas-x. Caps may help.
