Pyrosis: Or epigastric burning sensation is most commonly caused by heartburn. This condition can be treated with dietary and life style modification as well a over the counter medications. Unresolved or alarm symptoms such as associated weight loss should be brought to your doctor's attention immediately.

Maybe...: Not enough information to confirm your liver concern, however discomfort as described is not to be ignored--its a warning sign that something may be wrong inside your abdomen. Stomach?: Probably more related to your stomach as Doxil (liposomal doxorubicin) can cause some acid reflux like symptoms.  Hope this helps.

Get eval: 2 years is along time to be dealing with a burning pain in your abdominal area.  See a dr and get some testing to determine what is causing your sensations.  Diverticular disease is a possibility, but a good colon exam, including a screening scope can be diagnostic.   If your colonoscopy is normal, than you can look at other possible causes.  As stated, a good exam and some testing will help you.

Need doctor to check: Abdominal pain can be from many things. Stomach acid problems cause pain, as does pancreatitis or gallstones. Appendicitis is always a concern (pain is usually right lower abdomen, worsens over time, with fever coming on). If constipated for a while, stool could have backed up and cause pain. Gastrointestinal infections can cause pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. A doctor's exam is needed.

Doctor can evaluate: There are many causes of abdominal pains, so a doctor will have to get the whole story and do an exam. The doctor will ask how the symptoms relate to meals, medication, peeing, or pooping. Gastritis, heartburn 
(acid reflux), or other acidity problem causes pain. Liver, gallbladder, or gallstone problems can cause pain. Constipation, diarrhea, pancreatitis, and kidney diseases can also cause pain.

Possible PUD?: There are a lot of possibilities, but your description of burning stomach pain raises the probability of gastritis ; ulcers. Stop any non-prescribed nsaid's (aspiriin, advil, aleve, (naproxen) motrin, etc.) ; start an otc acid reducer (like Prilosec otc, Prevacid 24hr). Seek emergency care if lightheaded, worsening symptoms, vomiting coffee ground material or passing black stool or blood. Your doc can help.
