off/on for past year+ i've been fighting an itchy rash on my butt (btwn chks). it comes/go. recently i have had other symp-hair loss, rash on back of neck, behind knees. i have hypo thyroid. what cause?

Itchy butt rash : Your itchy butt rash and your hairloss are not related. Your hairloss is related to your hypothyroid condition, your ithchy butt rash may be related to poor hygiene or other reasons.

Bites: The toxins that are injected from a  bite can easily cause a local numbess and skin changes.     Bites usually just cause local  swelling and redness in the soft tissues.

Scabs: Please start with a clinic visit to your primary doctor. Your issue might be easy to control or your doctor will refer you a specialist.

Arthritis rash can b: Inflammatory, and   psoriais can be associated with a condition know as dactylitis and can affect the knees as psoriatic arthritis

. Other causes are infection, gout, lyme disease, .

Itchy rash: Rashes are notoriously difficult to solve without seeing them. Hives are like raised patches and can be described as water-filled.  Several treatment modalities would help you in that case.  Contact allergy may be more likely and an Allergist can help identify triggers and treat that as well. Step 1 is to try not to rub/itch it, which makes the itch worse in either case.

Eczema: This sounds like eczema.  It could also be psoriasis but psoriasis does not always itch.

Allergies: Patients with allergies can develop red and itchy skin around the eyes and on the eyelids from allergies.  Behind the knees and on the inside part of the elbow too.This skin condition is called allergic dermatitis or allergic eczema.  You can use a hypoallergenic cream/lotion: cetaphil or lubriderm and consider contacting your medical doctor about taking allergy pills-such as Claritin (loratadine) or allegra.

after i drink several glasses of red wine, my right  calf swells up, my leg aches, and i get an itchy rash behind my knee. whats going on?

Reaction to sulfites: Is possible.  Sometimes, more expensive red wines can contain sulfites.  I don't know why your left calf will be spared though.  Stick with cheap white wine.
