i had protected sex.  period was 8 days late and was normal.  during period my nipples swelled and darkened, they currently look the same. took 5 hpts after period ended & all are neg. can i be preg?

No,,: If you've had your period, even if it was late you're not pregnant.  The swelling of the nipples could be from hormone fluctuations and should go back/not get worse.  You've had many tests come back neg after your period also so it likely confirms it.  If you're still unsure or if you don't feel well, you can see your doctor for an exam to be sure there isn't anything else.  Good luck.

Yes: Your breasts respond to increased Progesterone produced in the second half of your cycle, then return to normal after your period when the levels have dropped.  This is why the best time to check your breasts for lumps is about a week after your period.

Not normal: Abdominal tightness + bloating is common just before and during ovulation or menstruation. In PMS, tightness may accompany other symptoms such as mood swings prior to menstruation. But if you feel tight &amp; bloated for more than one week or after your period ends, I recommend you see your doctor. Ovarian cancers can present this way and should not be overlooked, especially if there is increased risk

Possible yeast: If you are having a white discharge at time of your menstrual period, you may be having a yeast (monilia, candida) vaginal infection. Do get evaluated, since treatment may be simple. Treatment may be more difficult if you have diabetes or have recently been taking antibiotics. Hope that helps.

Likely normal: Given how recently you finished your period, it is likely related to the hormone fluctuations that occur normally during your cycle.  Breast pain and tingling is almost never associated with breast cancer; the exception is when a woman has a tumor big enough to take over the breast. Try ibuprofen to alleviate symptoms; the passage of time will probably also help

: At age "52", although menstruation has stopped, your pituitary is still stimulating your ovaries to force ovulation, which increases the levels of estrogen from the ovaries, creating breast tenderness, and swelling. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral bcp's which will stop ovarian estrogen production and ease the breast symptoms.
