i have a hormone imbalance that previously caused burning in the vag.  diagnosis confirmed by gynae. after leaving her office few days ago the burning has disapp.  it's so strange after mnths of misdiagnosis. what can i do to manage hormone changes?

: It is unusual to associate a "hormone imbalance" with "vaginal burning", which is usually caused by bacterial, viral or fungal infection. At age "46", with more stimulation via the pituitary required for ovulation, irregular menses with long gaps between "periods", it may assist to consider oral bcp's to stop ovarian hormone production. See your gyn to discuss .

the past two days my veins in both of my breasts have seemed way, way darker than usual. also have some pain around my left nipple as well. i struggle with hormone imbalancecould this be a cause? i am also on my period right now?

: I feel that these symptoms are related to hormones and your menstrual period. If they don't completely resolve after your period is over, see your MD or gynecologist for evaluation and advice.

stomach/facial emerging. more nipple hair. arms/armpit hair grows faster. no thyroid/hormonal imbalance. whats the cause?i want to stop/reverse this.

A common cause: Of hirsutism is family history or ethnicity. Some hormonal manipulation can be helpful for many women with things like spironolactone and ocp with low androgen progesterone. If there isn&#x27;t anything adrenal or otherwise hormonal, i&#x27;d talk with my doctor about spironolactone. It doesn&#x27;t get rid of hair, but really slows down growth. Good luck.

Probably neither: While this should always be worked up by a physician, bilateral discharge most often is related to stimulation, either external or secondary to medicines or herbs. Unilateral discharge is more likely to be pathological, and bloody discharge should always be considered serious. Most causes, including infections are easy to rx, but making the diagnosis is critical.

See doctor: Discharge from the breasts, any color, should be evaluated by a doctor if you are not breastfeeding or pregnant.  This could be caused by an elevated hormone such as prolactin, which is produced in the brain.  See your gynecologist or primary doctor for evaluation.

Yes: If a woman has much acne, it is likely to be due to extra androgens, especially if her periods are not quite normal; this is very common and your family physician or gynecologist has already considered it. A man's acne is usually just from him having plenty of testosterone, which is a good thing; acne is easy to treat with real medications.

Very common: and usually benign. Can be due to breast stimulation. Also may be due to mild elevation of prolactin due to medication, etc. If fluid is bloody, smelly or discolored it needs an evaluation. Otherwise relax.

Prescription Rx: It's not stress. If you're a man, it's not a hormonal imbalance. If you're a woman, consider going on the oral contraceptive pill. Acne on the trunk will require a combination of topical (benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid) and prescription systemic Rx. It's not your lifestyle; the cause is obscure. Do what you need to. Scientific Rx: Listen, Jake. Don't try to figure out why you have trunk acne. It's not a "hormonal imbalance", stress, hygiene, or anything lifestyle-related. It's you. It will eventually remit. Until then, you must manage it with a physician's help. Acne on the trunk will require a topical such as benzoyl peroxide plus usually a systemic antibiotic for a while. If you're offered isotretinoin, go for it. Cheers.
