Not common: My experience is that it is very unusual for patients to have suicide thoughts because of the medication. Depressed people have suicide thoughts and many are on meds. If you know to watch for them you will notice worsening depression and negative thoughts. If you notice things getting worse contact your physician right away.

Better mood ?: If you are depressed, you may feel better. If you are trying to quit smoking it may help you quit. If you have adhd it may help your concentration and attention. Like other antidepressants it may cause side effects. If you are an alcoholic it may increase the risk of having a seizure.

Accepted Answer

Antidepressant: Bupropion (brand name wellbutrin) acts uniquely on dopamine, unlike other antidepressants. It is not an anti-anxiety med, and won't help anxiety directly.  Prescribed in the form of time-release generic tablets once or twice daily, it often relieves depressive symptoms in 2 or 3 weeks.  It's also used to help quit smoking (brand name zyban), as it decreases cravings.

Stopping bupropion : There are no withdrawal symptoms in stopping bupropion, however whatever condition you have been using the bupropion to treat may recur or intensify. Sometimes this risk is decreased by gradually decreasing the dose. You really owe it to yourself to talk this over with your doctor for the best results.

OD: Thats a huge dose, you can go into seizures or status epilepticus or have some other brain excitation side effects.
Wellbutrin usually is cardio neurtal but at that high dose anything is possible including stroke, please call 911 or have some go to nearest er.

Quitting tobacco: Zyban (bupropion) is effective for many patients in treating nicotine dependence. It often will reduce cravings. However, like in many other substance disorders, the best results/greatest chance of success comes with a psychosocial support group as part of the treatment, since many behaviors, ways of thinking, and similar issues are critically important in stopping and remaining off of tobacco.

Adipex: This is a psychostimulant with properties similar to amphetamine. Use with caution if combining with wellbutrin, (bupropion) due to excess stimulation & effect on cardiovascular system.

Yes: Yes. When one alone does not help someone trying to quit smoking both together could be tried. There are potential risks/side effects especially as either medication taken alone can make you depressed and have suicidal thoughts. Close supervision by your md is essential.

Accepted Answer

Yes: There are no known interactions between l-theanine and bupropion.  However, if bupropion is making you anxious, it may not be the correct medication for you.  Rather than add another supplement, you might consider talking with your doctor about your anxiety instead.
