While your BUN: (blood urea nitrogen) is slightly high (usual normal is up to 20), your BUN/creatinine ratio is higher at 29 (usual normal is also up to 20). An increased ratio may be due to a condition that causes a decrease in the flow of blood to the kidneys such as dehydration or congestive heart failure. Vitamin D or B12 levels should not impact this. Discuss with the doctor who ordered these tests for you.

my bun result is within normal range as well as my urinalysis, and my right kidney utz is normal while my left kidney has small renal cyst. my creatinine is sightly elevated. it's 124. in what ckd level do i probably fall under?

: If you have an average BSA (body surface area of 1.72 m2) your calculated GFR is around 63 cc/min, at the low limit of stage 2 (stage 2 GFR 60 - 89 cc/min). You should be followed by a kidney specialist (nephrologist) if you have not been seen. Good luck.

What's "normal"?: Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside on either end. "normal" doesn't necessarily mean "healthy" in any case. Especially, low BUN in a person who looks and feels well never means anything. Your physician gave you good advice.

BUN is blood urea nitrogen - normal is usually around  7 to 20 mg/dL (2.5 to 7.1 mmol/L).  Total blood cacium levels usually have a normal range of  8.6 to 10.2 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Triglycerides are usually drawn when one is fasting  and should be less than150 (mg/dL).

What are the results: Of BUN and creatinine? Ratios often distort the meaning of raw values. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that one needs to know the actual values to provide an opinion.
