It : It sounds like you are talking about keratosis pilaris.  The sun doesn't really play a role in this condition (proper use of sunscreen after microdermabrasion is always a good idea, though). This is, unfortunately, a chronic condition for many people.  It does tend to settle a bit with age in many patients.  Treatment options include keratolytic agents such as Lactic Acid creams, salicylic acid creams, urea based creams, retinoids (like retin-a), and microdermabrasion.  Because microdermabrasion is a bit more expensive, most patients opt for the topical creams.  I hope that helps.

PLR: Polymorphic light eruption (PMLE) is a skin rash that occurs with exposure to the sun. It is not the same as sunburn. PMLE is not harmful, but can be itchy.The rash normally heals completely within a week if you avoid further sun exposure. Meanwhile, a cream containing corticosteroid will help to settle the rash.

Sun poisoning: Your rash is due to sun exposure. Being in the hot sun dehydrates you and alters your electrolytes and metabolic makeup causing nausea and fatigue. Be warned that too much sun can result in much more serious problems like melanoma.

Yes: The higher the altitude, the less protection the atmosphere (ozone) provides.  A minimum of SPF 30 sunblock, applied frequently, is necessary to avoid sunburns at high altitudes.

Sun can do this: If you have been exposed to the sun's radiation for any given amount of time, you can be susceptible to sun poisoning.  Sunburn is a result of damage from radiation.  Keep in mind that this invokes an inflammatory response that could include symptoms of fatigue,  i.e. Fever and chills, lethargy.  Sun blocks are so important these days.  I see that you have a history of rosacea=inflammation.

Rash: It sounds like you may have Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE), however it would be a good idea to rule out Lupus Erythematosus. You should visit a Dermatologist if it is continuing to occur.

Shaving: Insure that you use fresh sharp blades vice dull blades. If the hair is more than several mm long – then trim it before shaving it. Wash the area before shaving – warm water can help to soften the hairs. Use a lubricant when shaving. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or are scented.  Shave in the direction of the hair – not against it. Be gentle when shaving – don’t push down too hard.
