hi,my 3 year old said she bumped her head on the door yesterday at daycare.at night she woke up saying it painful nt sure if it headache or jst where she bumped her head,i gave her ibumol 4 pain, but she's still complaining of pain shud i b worried?

Maybe, maybe not: Children often hit their heads on things. If a child is behaving differently after a mild injury, she should be evaluated by her primary doctor. Sometimes an emergency room visit is needed, depending on the symptoms. Head bumps in which there is low-impact on the head, little crying, no changes in behavior and no headache after the first hour, etc..., usually don't cause internal injuries.

i hit my head often accidentally on car doors, boxes above me, etc. can i develop cte from these trivial head bumps?

Not CTE: Concussion yes but not CTE.  CTE occurrs with chronic repetitive impacts over a long time not a few isolated events

i hit the side of my head with the microwave door and it left about a fingertip sized bump, is there anything i should be worried about or pay attention to?

: There is little chance of a serious injury from the mechanism you described.  Symptoms that would cause concern are severe headache, uncontrollable vomiting, change in mental status.  Otherwise, apply ice to the swollen area and it should heal in a day or two.

i am 18 years old and i often let go of objects when i'm holding them. i also often bump into obstacles like door frames and sometimes i reach out for objects just to find out that i didn't even touch them. what could be the reason for this? regards

Check with doc: Are you preoccupied with lot of issues in your mind. Practice being present at that moment for a day and see if these resolve. If you have weak grip,numbness, tingling in ur hands and feet, and unstable walking, then you should discuss with your doctor. Practice mindfulness breathing, eating. Be aware of the task at that moment and see if it helps

Laceration: He needs a tetanus shot. The laceration needs to be evaluated to see if it needs sutures.

i hit my head on the car door a little over a week ago.it created a large bump. ive been picking at it,will this cause the hematoma to become serious?

Accepted Answer

Bump: Hematoma or contusion should resolve in a 7 to 10 day period. Although picking at it is not helpful as long as you are not scratching the skin this should still resolve. Although if you are traumatizing the area then that will delay healing. Cool compress OK.

hi, have a question i  smash my finger in a house front door . its swollen and bused and  has a bump on it  i dont know if i broke it  . it happen the 16th of this month and its going to be a week tomorrow.so i dont know what to do any suggestions?

Maybe ok: If finger moves normally and remains in proper alignment throughout range of motion, may not need surgery.

: Just observe your child closely in the next 24 hours and bring her to the ER if she behaves differently in the meantime such as lethargy, falling asleep off schedule, nausea/vomit or headache. However, this type of accident is not uncommon so most likely she will be fine. Take care.

NEED TO BE CHECHED: You had head injuru and 24 hours later you have bad headache.You need to be checked and need a cat scan to rule out a subdural hematoma
go to the er and have it checked.
