These cysts can range in size from a pea to a large marble. They usually grow slowly. If the Bartholin's gland or duct gets infected, it's called a Bartholin's gland abscess and may need excision or drainage.

Yes: irritant from soaps or other contacts are possible, but that doesn't usually cause a solitary painful red bump.  Frankly, herpes is the first that comes to mind, but there are lots of possibilities.  Get checked out if it doesn't go away in a couple of days.

Infected herpes sore: Since you have contracted the HSV and HPV, you will be prone for developing herpes lesions as well as genital warts. The lesion you are describing may be an infected herpes lesion that you may want to have examined by a health care provider.

Vaginal bump: My chief of dermatology very wisely used to say "a bump in the body belongs in a bottle!" so, go to your gynecologist and get this looked at and properly treated.
