Bumps w/ scratch lin: On arms and legs too? May be scabies for which Elimite (permethrin) is used   (http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/scabies/treatment.html)   or bedbugs, chiggers, ringworm.  Sometime if there is infection as well give antibiotics. f/u/ w/ doc urgent  care.

Refractory Headache: Refractory headache for one month and "oval hard bump on head" is a red flag and visit to your PCP is warranted. Schedule an appointment for consultation, tests and imaging.

?cyst: This could be a boil(abscess) or infected cyst. Warm compresses help, but see your physician if there is increasing size and tenderness. Often these need to be drained.

New headache: Headaches can be a concerning symptom and can have many causes.  Some are deserving of emergent treatment.  Warning signs are chronic headaches that suddenly change in quality or intensity, multiple headaches a week, new onset headaches that affect one's ability to function, associated vomiting, associated dizziness/double vision/neck ache/fever/weakness, or the need to take daily pain medication.

...Eruption..watch: Sounds like one is about to break out in Herpes III ( Shingles) eruption in that area. Watch for a few days to see if the rashes do break out ; else have MD take a look at the left side of the ear if Symptoms persist.

Likely lymph node: There are thousands of lymph node located around the body that help screen out germs in the body serum. There are many in the neck, head &amp; behind the ear. At rest these are often 1/4 inch in diameter (pea sized) and may grow to marble sized when reacting to a stimulus. Bug bites, or viral infections can increase their size.What you describe is normal.If concerned review this with the kids doc.

Not necessary.: If the lymph node is that small, not to worry.  It will likely go away within a few days or a couple of weeks.  You only need to see a doctor if it doesn't go away or continues to enlarge.

Boil: This may be an abscess that started as an ingrown hair. Warm applications help bring it to head. It also could be an infected cyst.Consult your physician if there is worsening pain,tenderness or swelling as it may have to be lanced.
