LPR vs GERD: The hallmark of GERD/HEARTBURN .But sometimes the acid travels so far up the esophagus that it reaches the throat and voice box. When that happens it's called laryngopharyngeal Reflux. Unlike GERD, LPR requires two muscles—both the LES and the upper esophageal sphincter—to function improperly. Burning mouth,throat irritation, dysphagia are symptoms.Dx easy ,doing P/E.
RX same as GERD

Laryngitis: You cannot touch your esophagus as it is located behind you trachea (windpipe). Take Ibuprofen for pain and stop touching  your neck. See ENT if problem persists.

30y/o, history of gerd + esophagus tender, take zantac (ranitidine). now have dysphagia lump in throat feeling 4 a week+. if i go to er will they test for cancer?

No: If you go to ER they will not test for cancer. That is not the purpose of ER. See your regular doctor or an ear, nose and throat doctor.

No worries: Large pills can lodge between the oral cavity and the stomach. If they do, and start to dissolve, some of the medication can irritate the esophageal tissue and make it "raw". Drink plenty of fluids, and time will heal the rest. Good luck.

Not a triage test: This is not really something done in an emergency room. You should see your doctor and discuss all of you symptoms and your concerns.

I think you are...: Referring to a zenker's diverticulum. This occurs when the lining of the esophagus herniated between constrictor muscles of the throat  reducing a sack that extends into the neck. The symptoms usually consist of a fullness  in the neck  or throat after eating with a regurgitation of chewed foods that relieves the fullness symptoms. This is caused by the food filling the sack.

None: The symptoms of reflux are well known. Barretts per se has no symptoms. It is a step on the way to cancer. If you have gerd, reflux, heartburn or other issues like these you need to be checked. Barrettes is the step below cancer.

Heart burn: The symptoms vary with the severity and duration of disease.  Usual symptoms are heart burn, chest pain, may be hoarseness, lung infection, difficulty in swallowing, anemia due to blood loss etc.

: Typically, during an upper endoscopy, the esophagus that has reflux affecting it looks a certain way and the GI doctor can diagnose this based on this appearance. They likely also took specimens to be certain, for example, there is no infection or even malignancy. You should ask the GI doctor if these specimens were sent to the lab and, if so, what the results were. Good luck!
