Cradle Cap: Seborrheic dermatitis or "cradle cap" is the most probable cause with the symptoms you describe.  You can use a Selsun Blue Shampoo three times a week for this. It contains selenium sulfide, which will help soften and remove the flakes.  We could diagnose with more certainty with a photo through a Prime Visit!

Mgt: There are several possible causes. I would suggest  discussing a Dermatology appointment with your PCP. He should wear a cap during peak sun exposure hours.

Itching: You MUST set up an appointment to see a Gynecologist.

Yes, : Yes, i would have him evaluated by a pediatric dentist.  The brown spots can may be staining on the surface of the teeth which can be removed by a dental prophylaxis (cleaning).  We see this quite often.  Frequently, it is caused by the iron present in vitamins with fluoride.

Brown spots?: There are many causes of hyperpigmentation. For example, Mongolian spots are common and nothing to worry about.  Cafe au lait spots may need to be followed. Ask you pediatrician - since they can actually see the "brown spots" you are referring to they are in the best position to give them a name and let you know the significance.  Internet "guessing" is likely only going to cause undue anxiety.

Ask your doctor: Light brown discoloration of the skin is very common. These may be "cafe au lait" birthmarks. These are usually normal, but depending on the size, number and distribution of the spots, your doctor may wish to do more testing. Multiple spots can sometimes be associated with an inherited condition called "neurofibromatosis". See your baby's doctor for more information.

Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
