Depends: The  color  may  vary and  change  as you go through life.  It  is  not uncommon to  have brownish  spotting right before or after you the begins or ends.

: Likely normal. What you described could be congealed endometrial lining mixed with altered blood and mucus. and would be normal.

CLOTS WITH MENSES: CLOTS DURING AND AT THE END OF MENSES REPRESENT BLOOD THAT IS POOLING AND CLOTTING SLOWLY.  CLOTS ARE NOT ABNORMAL DURING MENSES AND THE USE OF A VIBRATOR DURING MENSES IS NOT CONTRAINDICATED.

THE CLOT MAY REPRESENT POOLED BLOOD THAT DID NOT FLOW VERY QUICKLY.  THEY CAN BE AS LARGE AS 50 CENTS PIECE NORMALLY AT THE END OF A CYCLE WHEN THE BLEEDING SLOWS DOWN.

my period came 5 days early, sunday. only lasted 2 days, light to none the 3rd day. i was sexually active in the beginning of my fertile window and once toward the end. can a blood test taken on wednesday be a false negative? cycle supposed to friday?

: You probably worry about implantation bleeding, not an early period. Three days after implantation, blood test should be positive for pregnancy. If you are not sure then you can double check with a urine pregnancy test this Sunday. Take care.

Hormones off: This most likely cause is that your hormones are off this cycle.  If that is the cause, it will correct on its own next cycle.  Other causes can be a growth in the lining of the uterus, such as a polyp or fibroid, or spotting from ovulation, which starts around the middle of the month for a few days.  Possibly infection in the cervix.  Check with your doctor if next cycle isn't normal.

Brown = blood : Brown equals old blood. If this is right after your period then you are just passing some of the blood that has been siting at the back of the vagina.If your periods are irregular see your doctor to discuss options for cycle regulation.

Irregular period: Many things cause irregular periods. If you were having unprotected sex it is possible this was a mild miscarriage.  It could also be due to  normal life stressors. You should reset to a normal period within the next two months. If you miss your next period, take a home pregnancy test. For any other concerns please see you doctor.

Normal: This is just old blood that didn't come down from uterus/cervix at the same time as the redder blood.  Noithing's wrong and there's nothing to worry about.  Hope that helps!
