will a broken blood vessel in the neck heal on its own?

Accepted Answer

Usually 7 to 10 days: If a vein is bruised this usually results in bleeding either under the skin to form a hematoma (trapped clotted blood) or from the skin directly.  Veins injured below the skin with a hematoma will take about 7 to 10 days to heal while a vein bleeding from the skin will usually stop with direct pressure and heal within 5 to 7 days.

sometimes when i move my head fast/do nothing, i suddenly feel a blood vessel pop in the back of my neck/head, followed by a warm feeling in my head. what could that be?

: You are not going to hear a blood vessel pop. If you hear anything like that it would be a ligament snap. The rest is not explained.

i have lipoma benign on neck side . it causes movement , dizziness , fainting .. does it block blood circulation of vessel of neck side ?

Probably not: While lipomas can be deep, and are sometimes intertwined with muscle fibers, they earle if ever go deep enough to block blood vessels, especially in the neck. It is also unlikely to be the source of your dizziness and fainting. See a general surgeon for a consultation tonfindnout for sure. Also see your primary care provider to see if any tests are needed to sort out your fainting (syncope).

i have a soft lump size of a qtr on rt  side of my neck.  dr. says looks like swollen? blood vessel when he was looking at sonogram. can you explain??

Is it pulsating?: if it is pulsating could be carotid aneurysm which should further be evaluated

See a doctor: the mechanism of ur husband's injury can cause multitude of different complications- from vascular (dissection of arteries) to neurological (spine nerve strain) etc. if smx persist- best to see a doctor quickly to rule out.

Blood vessel: Unlikely unless there is a vascular anomaly or tumor.

Throat bleeding: It depends on the type and size of the vessel. Artery problems are rare . Vein problems are less severe .  They may occur with severe coughing.  All in all a rare problem that should be discussed with a physician if it occurs.

: These are usually superficial capillaries that will self-heal in days. This triggers a small amount of blood that will mix with our saliva. You would be vomiting coffee ground material if a quantity made it into your stomach. I would not lose sleep over this.

See ENT: You should go to see ear nose and throat doctor as soon as possible. That  mass should be evaluated and biopsy should be done to rule out cancer. Also, certain imaging study i.e. Ct scan likely need to be done as well. Don't delay anymore , go to see ENT
