Can help: Buddy taping can help as it will splint the broken toe to the adjacent toe.  While not absolutely required when you sleep, i would probably consider doing it, and it may be more comfortable as well this way.

Don't worry: You should have a full recovery after a broken big toe even with a slight displacement.  There is no reason that you will not be able to return to all of the sports that you are wanting after the fracture heals.  Be a little patient and you will do well.

Hallux fracture: First- you shouldn't treat it yourself! an x-ray is necessary to be sure that the break is in good alignment- otherwise poor healing can result with long-term problems. If the x-ray shows good alignment and no joint involvement, a surgical shoe with a stiff sole, or a cam walker for 2-4 weeks will help.

I would very much: Discourage you from playing soccer with a broken big toe. Big toes are the most important toe in walking. If the toe is broken and you play soccer potentially you can injure the digit more. If i was your doctor i would recommend against you playing.
