stubbed my baby toe. it is now swollen and very bruised. should i go to a hospital for treatment or can i treat the toe at home?

Your choice: This could be a simple bone or tissue bruise or as much as a broken toe. They seldom do anything more than comfort care for either, although would add the expense of an x-ray if you went to the charges from the hospital &amp; doc. If it interferes with you ability to work/function,go in. If not you could go later if it ever did. You might just put on a cool compress &amp; keep the foot elevated.

Corn issue: You may first attempt padding the area and wearing wider shoes. If that doesn't relieve it then seek a foot and ankle specialist who can provide surgical repair options to provide long standing relief.

X-ray: The only real way to tell if it is broken is to have an x-ray.
But if the toe is swollen and pointed in an unusual direction and you can't move it, it is probably proken, but needs professional attention.

RICE: Rest, ice , compression, elevation. There isn't much to do other than observe it. If you can go to your doctor he/she may buddy splint the toes for you

Skin split: You may have a fissure and can be quite painful. If you are diabetic you need to see your podiatrist asap otherwise try some neosporin and bandaid but should see your local podiatrist anyway. You could get an infection.

Callus remover pads: Have you tried over the counter callus remover pads? They are like bandaids with medicine to help soften callouses.  You can also see your doctor or a podiatrist to have it pared down with a scalpel.

Irritation or infect: Likely it is irritation from rubbing against the inside of your shoe, you may have an "adductovarus" deformity,  but it can also be an infection.  Get it checked out to be sure by your local podiatrist! good luck!
