Cheerio: (not the cereal). Sure, why not? It allows a break to recenter yourself and focus, have a snack & hydrate (often w/caffeinated beverage), socialize (if not alone...Can talk to yourself as well, but try not to argue!).

Nauseous?: If your fear of vomiting is accompanied by ongoing nausea, that would cause much suffering. If you are always nauseous, you might want to see a GI doctor. On the other hand, if your phobia is interfering with your life, a mental health professional might be very helpful. Sometimes nausea is caused by anxiety and that could worsen your phobia, causing a cycle of fear. Hope this answer helps.

Probably: Vitamins are important for you to get through your diet. If you feel you do not get the necessary daily requirements through a balanced high content of plant based diet, its best to take a multivitamin each day regardless of tough mudder race or not.  In general, use a high quality multi vitamin tablet such as new chapter brand as insurance to ensure you get your daily vitamins and minerals.

i am traveling to anguilla in he british west indies next week. has the zika virus been a problem there? what are the risks for a 60 year old couple?

Anguilla: The US State Department warns that mosquito-borne illnesses such as Dengue and Chikungunya occur in Anguilla. They recommend you use CDC approved mosquito repellant (see link). There is only one major hospital on Anguilla. Make sure you purchase international travel insurance. Have a great time.

my apologies if this is repetitive, but i remain unclear on the quality of osteopathic care. what i meant to say is, are british osteopaths regarded as competent health care providers?

: I do not know much about the training of a doctor of osteopathic (DO) in Canada or Great Britain but the quality of D.O. is equal to M.D. in the US. My guess is DO training program outside of the US is not much different from US program. Good luck.

Not true!: That is an unfortunate stereotype which has no validity. Bad breath is a symptom of poor oral hygiene and poor diet. It may also reflect poor gastrointestinal health.

why do bal (british anti lewisite) needles feel so painful?

BAL Injections: BAL,( dimericaprol) injections are indeed painful.  The reason being is that due to solubility problems, the BAL is not water soluble and the manufacturing process requires that it be suspended in a thick peanut oil which must be injected using a large bore needle. The large bore needle and the viscosity of the BAL are what causes most of the pain.

I would discuss this with your nephrologist so that you can have your questions answered that are specific to your case and not some generalized answer from someone who doesn't know your case.
