Get it seen: Most likely it's a cyst. Get with your physician, who will probably aspirate it. Cancer is unlikely, but you're a grown woman now and need to get into the habit of getting seen for any dominant breast mast that you discover. Best wishes.

No: All tests can miss a breast lump.  They are best used together.  An ultrasound may find a lump that is missed on mammogram.  A MRI may find lumps missed by the usg etc.

Multiple symptom ?'s: While your symptoms are those of an infection (viral or bacterial), they need a physician to evaluate them.  See a physician in an urgent care clinic or your family physician for an exam and other testing. Sinus infections and upper intestinal illness can produce all  of the symptoms mentioned.

Fibroadenoma: The most common breast tumor is a fibroadenoma.  This is a benign tumor which may be present as early as the teen years.  As women age, breast cysts may develop, which are benign fluid-filled lumps (peak incidence ages 35-50).  It is often very difficult to distinguish a lump from normal "lumpy-bumpy" tissue.  When in doubt, it is best to see your primary care physician or gynecologist.

Most people return to work in a few days and are back to normal activities in a week.  Of course, check with your surgeon.
