Do pregnancy test: Doing a pregnancy test is the answer. Although you had sex just after period ended it is always possible. Your period then could have been off and you just ovulated.  You probably at 4 weeks having another period it is important to perform a pregnancy test.

: It could be implantation bleeding by its color and description and timing but you are on birth control so that is unlikely. It is more likely to just be some spotting before your typical withdrawal bleeding that you will have when you are on the week off of medication.

What is timing?: Implantation is when the conceptus (from union of egg &amp; sperm) attach to the wall of the uterus.
Bleeding most often  dose not occur with implantation. If there is bleeding the amount is small. It may be small rust or brown colored drops or light pink swirled in white d/C. It usually occurs about ten days after ovulation.  There is more blood w period. Take a HPT if you miss your period.

Likely breakthrough: It's almost never implantation bleeding, that is largely an internet myth. If - a big if - you actually get implantation bleed it would be about 7 days after ovulation, or about a week before your expected period.

Implantation: Implantation bleeding is much more common on the internet than in real life. It occurs rarely and exclusively in someone who is pregnant. The only way to know if someone had implantation bleeding or just irregular menstrual bleeding is to wait and see if you are pregnant. If your test is positive then this was implantation bleeding. If it is negative then it is just irregular menstrual bleeding.

Breakthrough : Breakthrough bleeding is a mid cycle bleeding in users of ocp as attributed to low estrogen. This occurs due to endometrial shedding. 
Implantation bleeding is the bleeding when a fertilized ovum implants in the endometrium and hits a vein in the process. 
Breakthrough bleeding can range from spotting to a heavy bleeding. Implantation bleeding could range from spotting to a uncommonly light period.

3 weeks after sex: A positive pregnancy test can tell a woman that PRIOR spotting was actually implantation spotting. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period.

Implantation: Midcycle spotting is common but more likely from ovulation than implantation. Implantation occurs exclusively in pregnant people. You can check a test if you miss your period. If negative then the bleeding is not implantation bleeding. Progesterone may regulate the cycle but does not promote ovulation or assist in fertility.

Implantation: Agree with Dr. Honore. This is not a dependable sign of implantation. Most often bleeding is not noted with implantation. When it does occur it is a tiny amount of blood.
