since i got a bone contusion on right top foot, i changed the way i walked on that foot and now, i stand a bit over prone. idk if this has to do with my feet and knees getting sore after 1-2 hrs of work(fastfood), but even trying insoles & new shoes?

: Using an abnormal gait to protect your injured foot will definitely result in muscle problems. Too bad that you can't take some time off from work to allow some healing to occur. A podiatrist can advise you how to handle this injury best &amp;advise you about what type of footwear is best.

Highly variable: Deep knee bruises (contusions) have a highly variable recovery timeframe. Not all bruises about the knee are the same. Important variables inlcude: actual location of bruise; level of impacting force applied to cause bruise; whether or not overlying articular cartilage is involved. Best diagnosed and followed by routine mri. Seek evaluation and treatment from your orthopaedic surgeon for your knee.

i have a small tear in my acl which caused a severe bone bruise . its been 2 months, can't lock out my knee, have pain...how much longer to heal?

See ortho: You need to see an orthopedic doctor and perhaps get some physical therapy since this may cause problems with muscle contracture and atrophy.   Make an appt now since permanent damage may already have occurred.

i hurt my knee a week ago and i think it's only a bone bruise bc i can move and bend it. but now it's locking and giving out. why is this happening?

Meniscal tear?: Locking, grinding, giving out with pain may indicate a meniscal tear. Please visit your primary care physician or orthopedic specialist for an examination. Many meniscal tears heal on their own without surgery over time. If not allergic, can take ibuprofen or naproxen OTC for pain. Your ankle sprain will make it easier to reinjure your leg. Please take care. Do you have crutches to use ?

i crashed my bike thurs ended w/a non-diagnosed  bone bruise on outside of my knee. treated w/rice&finished ride.  cont rice& riding next 2 dys w/no pain cycling. is it ok to cont cycling?

Weeks: A bone bruise can take several weeks, up to 6 - 8 weeks to heal.  I would avoid sports for 1 - 2 weeks, then gradually resume, and back off again if symptoms return.  Good luck!

Several days: Bone bruises can take a few weeks to resolve. Rest and ice will help alleviate pain and swelling. You should consult an orthopedic specialist and have X rays just to make sure it is not fractured.

: Cant be diagnosed without an exam.  Pl see your doc. In the meantime use local heat, wear a knee support hose/elastic.

: It could be a soft tissue contusion vs bone contusion. For the latter condition, it may take weeks to months for a full recover. With soft tissue bruise, your symptoms should resolve in a couple weeks. If symptoms persist or get worse after 6-8 weeks, you should be evaluated by an orthopedist. If current activity is limited due to pain, you should wear a knee brace and take advil OTC as needed.
