Unlikely: This is probably staphylococcal.  See a doctor and have this examined, diagnosed and treated.  Not likely to be herpetic.

See doc.: Increasing redness means that you need to get seen promptly.  Likely, you will need to have the boil lanced.  Get seen tomorrow, before the infection spreads!

Boil Therapy: Antibiotics are often used to eliminate any accompanying bacterial infection, especially if there is an infection of the surrounding skin. However, antibiotics are not needed in every situation. In fact, antibiotics have difficulty penetrating the outer wall of an abscess well and often will not cure an abscess without additional surgical drainage.

Staph Infection: Most likely you have a staph infection that is not resolving.  If not treated, it may spread and cause severe problems.  Right now, clean with soap and water, and perhaps use hand sanitizer on the lesion.  Also, apply a hot compress diligently.  That will help it drain.  But I recommend seeing a physician and getting treated with antibiotics.

my partner has a 4 day old boil like knot above her hip on her right side.  it's tennis ball size and won't come to a head wut do we do. tried everyth?

See doctor: Call to see doctor in next 48 hours. If it is indeed the size of a tennis ball, that is HUGE. The primary treatment for a boil like that is drainage. Until time of appointment, apply warm packs every hour, and if fever or any neurologic symptoms, go to ER.

should i see a doctor for this? i had a boil come up on my left hip. some infection came out, but now it is a huge whole. should i see a doctor for this or is there anything they can do?

If : If you have an infection with a "hole", that would typically require an antibiotic to be prescribed.  Prompt treatment will not only cure the infection, but also allow the dermatologist to culture the infection to make sure you don't have mrsa, an infection that is resistant to some antibiotics.  The dermatologist can also evaluate the lesion and hopefully give some topical treatment or other therapy (drain or lance the area) to help reduce the boil and improve you more quickly.

i would normally get a boil on my hips or buttocks now & again, but for the last few months i have been getting boils non stop on my hips & shockingly, even on my vagina as well now. they are truly painful & i honestly do not know why? please advise.

Resistant bacteria?: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. The doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.

started budesonide (pulmicort) respules / ampules in saline (.5mg/2ml respules in 8oz saline) as a nasal irrigation / neti pot solution. 7 days later i developed a boil on my hip.  is it possible that the boil was from budesonide immunosuppression?

No: Separate issue. Be sure to see your doctor for that boil

If you have a boil: It needs to be drained.....don't let an infection fester.
