i take wellbutrin (bupropion) for depression/anxiety. i also have cerebral palsy. a friend told me that wellbutrin (bupropion) makes spasticity worse. is this true?

No it is not true: Even though wellbrutin has several CNS side effects but it does not make spasticity worse.It can cause trmors, pseudoparkinson(which is involuntary movements ) and others but will have no effect on spasticity.

Hypnic jerks: Probably hypnic jerks and periodic limb movements of sleep. These are worsened by some meds, caffeine, stress, alcohol, sleep deprivation.

Anxiety disorder: You describe what sounds like an anxiety attack.  You are on potent medications with potential side effects.  Also, if you are ingesting a lot of caffeine in coffee and energy drinks along with your focalin, (dexmethylphenidate) you are causing severe stress disorder in your body.  You need to learn meditation and relaxation and mind management so you do not need so much medication.  Practice good health habits.

Needs attention: spasticity is a symptom of a disorder of either the brain or spinal cord.  I would recommend a neurological consult in the near future.

Several ways: Stress causes hormonal and chemo-transmitters changes which over extended periods  cause a multitude of problems to your bodies glands and organs. The mind and body are intimately related. Heart , kidney, pancreas, and many more problems, including malignancies, can result from long term stress.

There are many: Variations.  Over interpretation of pain, insomnia, daytime fatigue, bowel problems, chest pain, headaches, depression.  Get treated if a persistent issue and consider therapy.  Good luck.

Uncertain: I really don't know. I wonder if the small vessels in your skin are vasodialating instead of vasoconstricting in response to the cold air. When small vessels dialate it get bring heat to the skin.

Anxiety and: Thoughts can be closely related.  We call it "self talk."  What we say to ourselves or think impacts our moods.  See a book called "Feeling Good" by David Burns for support.  A cognitive behavioral therapist would be very helpful.  Peace and good health.

County: Check your county health center. Many have sliding scale services. Many other practices have students who you can see for cheaper.
