Dermatologists: A dermatologist spends 3 years in training about the skin, care of the skin, and treatment of abnormalities of the skin.  While we need the products developed by the cosmetic and drug companies, the people in the companies have limited general information about the skin.

Food Myths: There is no health benefit or consequence for skin from eating almonds or using almond products topically. Medicine would be neutral on this question.

No problem: I am not aware of any estrogen effect from almond. Since oil contains so little protein, even soy oil would not likely have measurable estrogen effect.

Protein Source: Almonds are a good fat and a good protein source, so they are a nice and healthy snack.  Otherwise there are no special or extra health benefits. And, medicine would remain fully neutral on the topic of coconut oil on the skin.  There is nothing there for health or not health.

Poss pilonidal cyst: Hard to say exactly what this is but one possibility is a pilonidal cyst. These can become infected so best to see your doctor to confirm the diagnosis.

Blepharitis: Try cleaning your lashes daily in she shower with a wash cloth using side to side motion for about 10 seconds.  This should become a routine and will prevent matter from building up on your lashes and the discomfort that often accompanies that.

18 m old dx with almond & peanut allergy on skin prick test but only 3mm. do we really have to be that cautious in not giving her these nuts ?

Yes: While 3mm may seem minor, the thing about allergies is that with repeated exposures the more vigorous the histamine response can become. The first time might be a little itchy. Next, hives. Next time, itchy throat with swelling of the eyes. Next time...full anaphylaxis with swelling of the throat, inability to breath etc. So yes, I would recommend caution.

Could be a cyst: could be a cyst, or a lipoma which is a benign fatty tumor,or a oil gland cyst ,there is nothing else possible in this location.
nothing to worry about ,if it becomes infected, or larger see a doctor.

Use real Rx: Try retinoic acid instead. Most of these products named for pretty flowers, fruits and trees are placebos. If you have acne, the retinoic acid should help as well. A dermatologist can give you more advice
