Distorted anatomy: If you have a distorted macula (retina) anatomy, it can result in wavy vision.  The more common causes of distorted maculas are macular degeneration, epiretinal membrane, and macular edema.

my husband just found out he has diabetes. tonight before dinner it was 475. upon waking it is  250. what do we need to do?

See your doctor: Your husband's diabetes is not controlled, and he needs medication. The 475 blood sugar suggests the need for insulin. Please see your doctor.

Anxious: No that is not true. If that symptom lasts only five minutes you need not worry. If you are really very concerned you should see a psychologist.

Mostly a myth but...: We can meet our demise any time of day.
At least in hospitals, many people seem to die in the middle of the nite. Research suggests that sudden cardiac death outside the hospital most often occurs between 7 and 11 AM but this is not a particularly common form of death. Ultimately, the grim reaper (or angel of death) can visit at any time.

gluc levels routinely perfect after 1 & 2 our mark during gluc tolerance test.  only time it's "high" is upon waking up: 100-110.  is this a concern?

IFG: Hi. Glucose fasting in the morning is normal up through and including 99; above that and up through and including 125 is impaired fasting glucose. Finger stick glucose not approved for diagnosis. You need serum glucose. It would be worth doing because you may be abnormal. Healthy diet and regular exercise!

Depends: Hi. The only standard defined values are fasting, a standard time after a fixed glucose challenge (75 grams, 2 hours; variations in pregnancy), and a non-fasting glucose &gt;/= 200. If those 110's are fasting, then that's abnormal. And don't forget, for diagnostics, serum glucose is used, not finger-stick glucose (capillary blood). So it may or may not be a problem, depending on whether it's fasting

Curious: I'm wondering if you are a belly sleeper, meaning do you lie with your face planted in the pillow or mattress?
Sometimes with external pressure applied to your eye(s), the vision can be temporarily discolored in the AM.  Other possible cause of "yellow" vision are use of the heart medicine digoxin or foxglove poisoning.

Fluid requirement: On an average a healthy male needs about 2.5-3 liters of fluid in a day. It may vary among individuals based on their activity and underlying medical conditions. Approximately 20% of fluid is obtained from the food especially fruits and vegetables. Keep well hydrated is always good.

Simple or complex: It maybe something simple as getting up too fast and your blood pressure being a bit low and cause reduced blood flow to your head- called orthostatic hypotension.  Another simple reason is protein debris on the tear film, very common in the morning that is usually blinked or washed away.  If you have this with any other neurologic signs- difficulty talking, holding objects, walking -go to your md.
