Yes: Uncontrolled blood sugar over an extended period of time, particularly with high blood pressure, can lead to blood vessel damage and subsequent diabetic retinopathy. In proliferative diabetic retinopathy new blood vessels grow in response. However, these new blood vessels are abnormal and can break and bleed easily. Such bleeding can result in floaters and decreased vision.

About floaters...: Floaters are due to imperfections in the clear gel inside the eyeball, and tend to become noticeable as a person ages. Floaters occur in many people, and sometimes are more noticeable if one is looking at a plain blank surface such as a blue sky. Large numbers of floaters, noticeably increasing floaters, flashes of light, changes in vision clarity, etc., can be evaluated by an MD eye doctor.

taken 50mcg. synthroid (thyroxine)  6yrs. new dr. says blood tests show normal range. stopped taking 3wks ago. hair loss, sudden eye floaters, flashes.. cause?

Synthroid (thyroxine): lasts a long time in your body and hair loss cannot occur in that short a time once you stop it. The levels persist for weeks and decline by only 1/2 every week, Why did you stop and why not restart -- it'll be much healthier for you. The tests were only normal because you were taking the replacement. Your thyroid didn't cure itself.

No: Blood pressure can most definitely impact the health of the eye.  Most commonly we see changes in the blood vessels in the back of the eye.  These can lead to blockages or obstructions of blood flow that lead to visual loss.  Floaters on the other hand are a harmless (though annoying) consequence of the natural aging process of the eye most of the time.

Vitreous floater: You most probably have a vitreous floater.  The clear gel that fills eyeball is normally attached to all parts of the inside of the eye.  As we get older it can become more liquid (watery) and detaches from the back of the retina causing your "dirt" floater.  This can also reult in a retinal tear or detachment  you should see your eye doctor to check the retina for this or hemorrhage (blood).

can i still have pre eclampsia with no protein in urine and blood pressure is normal. the only symptom i have is eye floaters.?

Depends: While having just  visual  changes  and  no elevation of  blood pressure  is  not commonly  seen  with preeclampsia it  can happen on  occasion. Those patients  may have  other  problems  like rapid  weight gain,  headaches  and  abnormal  kidney and liver functions    preceeding  the  elevated BP and protein  . The  usual  visual changes are  lights or spot before  eyes  not  floaters.

why do i get headrushes and ear pressure when i lift or bend over? i'm also seeing eye floaters and have had 6 migraines in 2 weeks, 2 of them were hemipligic. blood pressure comes back normal so does bloodwork in general. ears looks normal each time?

: When one lifts,strains or bends you temporarily elevate the intracranial pressure as well as pressure within the ears which will feel clogged momentarily. Weight lifters comment on this. Eye floaters are usually harmless, but if they come in bursts, the concern is retinal detachments. Get examined &amp; advised by an ophthalmologist. Consult a neurologist with experience in migraines for best treatmen

Vitreous detachment: Floaters are usually secondary to vitreous detachment from the retina.  This is a normal aging process and it can start as early as teens in a highly nearsighted person to into the 60's.  But when you first notice it u need to see an eye md to make sure there are no retinal tears.  Your mouth lesions may be candida and from a lot of stress and not necessarily HIV related.  See your primary md.
