i just got back some test results. in my blood, my glucose level is 111. in my urine my protein level is 25. should i be concerned?

Kidney dis?: Your glucose is ok but protein in the urine is always abnormal and may indicated kidney disease. This needs further investigation.

my 4 year olds urine analysis says, no protein,glucose, blood,rbc,wbc or anything but a ph of 8 and sp gravity of 1.005.he is vegeterian, on milk.

Healthy UA: The pH of urine can vary throughout the day and is somewhat related to diet.  Urine is more likely to be acidic in the morning and less so later in the day and can also change if time lapses before testing.   If your child had kidney stones,  the pH would perhaps be more important,  The sg of 1.005 indicates that your child is well hydrated.

Culture : Please have a culture sent. The large number of leukocytes may indicate a possible infection. Her urine is concentrated and she should drink fluids. A repeat urinalysis and renal function tests indicated to follow protein in urine.

Diabetes: Get checked for diabetes with a fasting blood glucose & hba1c by a good internist. Sometimes the blood sugar can be normal in the fasting state.
If you truly do not have diabetes, have your bladder checked for cystitis.

No, it would be unus: Cancer by itself does not affect the blood glucose, so it is not the likely cause of sugar in urine or high blood sugar. But coincidental Diabetes can occur, so it should not surprise you as Diabetes is fairly common disease. On rare occasions Cancer of the Pancreas can  preceed  recent onset of diabetes. This association should be kept in mind in cases of newly diagnosed Diabetes.
