Blood test: There is no simple blood test to determine if a patient is taking any medicine for blood pressure.  Usually I can tell if a patient is taking their medicine because they are requesting refills at the appropriate time.  For example if you are given thirty pills, but don't need a refill for 90 days, well then you likely have missed some doses.

Generally no: The known &#x27;ototoxic&#x27; cardiovascular drugs are as follows:
loop diuretics like Lasix;
aspirin overdose causes tinnitus (ear ringing) as classic sign

Yes: Yes, in general penicillen has no negative interactions.  But make sure the prescribing physician has a complete list of all your medications, supplements, and over the counter medications.

See below: Your potassium can be corrected in 24 hours with resolution of symptoms, if any. Thyroid hormone lasts longer. You may see benefit within days but it takes six weeks to fully equilibrate. Ask you doctor to switch you from Chlorthalidone which is famous for causing low potassium to a combination of hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene. This is just as inexpensive and avoids low potassium.

Of the drugs listed: clonidine is the only one commonly associated with ED unless diuretics are involved. However, other factors may play a role: uncontrolled BP, elevated lipid levels (cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides), emotional factors, insulin resistance/diabetes. The dose of drug is important factor: higher doses may cause problems whereas lower doses do not.  Some supplements may also be involved.

my husband is 77 years old hes already on blood pressure medicine but lately his blood pressure has been 101/59 somtimes lower and been tired. bad?

Low BP and fatigue: Call his doctor and get his advice. He would also need to have a blood test taken to make sure he is not anemic, which can cause low BP and fatigue. After an evaluation by his physician, he may need to cut back on his BP meds if everything else is normal. Good luck.

No, if......: Being on blood pressure medication for years is not bad if you are being treated for high blood pressure. What is bad is having untreated high blood pressure for years. Check with your doctor, and check your blood pressure regularly.
