Pap smear bleeding: The brush used to obtain cellular material for pap smears is an irritant, and delicate blood vessels in the cervical region can be injured  with resultant bleeding.  If this is contributed to  by chronic inflammation of the cervix, it can be treated by your gyn physician.

You got me...: If you received an antibiotic prescription, the doctor must think there you have a bacterial infection of some sorts. Indeed, such an infection could lead to an elevated white blood cell count. But what i cannot answer from the information provided is where this infection is, or where it came from. These are good, important questions, and i suggest you contact the office and ask them.

Result of PAP smear: Blood on cervix can be seen in time of period, can be seen because cervix has erosions or ulcers. 
Evaluation of your pap smear is very important  to rule out cervical intraepithelial lesion, low or high grade. Endometrial cells in women after 40 y. Should be reported for appropriate follow up ( to rule out endometrial hyperplasia or neoplasia).

Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Is True: The Pap Smear examines the types of cells present on a glass slide. The additional blood cells can easily be distinguished from the other cell types on the slide. It is true that your results will not be affected.

No.: There are certain diseases (syphillis, hiv, hep c) that are proven byblood tests, but most clinical exam and/or require culture (gonorrhea, chlamydia, mycoplasma). Empiric treatment is indeed done.

Normal: It's actually very common during a Pap smear for some blood to be found on the swabs.  Your cervix and it's respective canal, has very sensitive tissue.  Remember the swabs, in reality, scrape cells away from the area to be assessed under a microscope.  This "scraping" can disrupt the thin tissue lining and lead to a small amount of bleeding.

May be: Are you near your period? You should have asked your doctor when she mentioned finding blood. It is likely that there is no serious issue otherwise your doctor would have looked into it.

: It is not unusual to have a little amount of blood from collecting the pap smear (on the brush). The pathology report determines the next step - observation and repeating the pap at a certain interval, colposcopy etc.

Blood=tissue damage: Any active non-menstrual bleeding/spotting you have after intercourse would reflect some type of injury to tissues exposed to the mechanical forces involved. You might see a small bleeding site with a close self exam (lighted mirror) or a doc could locate the site. If it is minimal and you keep the areas clean it will likely stop.If you are soaking pads you need to be evaluated.
