You should not: Have heavy bleeding after an abortion as that would indicate a problems like retained products , the uterus not contacting properly, rarely uterine perforation, please call the doc who did the ab or go to the er.

Obgyn follow up: You will need to follow up with the doctor who handled your abortion. They can assess you to make sure all has passed. They may want to track your BHCG levels until they return to zero.

Not Good!: Need to get checked out. Could be infection, blood problem or retained products of conception. You need to see doc imediately. Er if necessary. Delay could lead to sterility, removal of your uterus or even more serious complications. Call the abortion provider to report-if no immediate response, go to er.

Post abortion: A "medical abortion" may not  always result in complete expulsion of all pregnancy tissue. A delay of your menses for "three months" is uncommon, but at this point you may require a "dilation and currettage: D&amp;C" to remove the remaining tissue, so your cycles are again regular.  You should obtain a serum pregnancy test in case you may be (again) pregnant.

: If you did a pregnancy test before taking the pills, and it was positive, you may repeat the test in 4-5 days. If the test is negative, then the abortion would be done. If it is positive, see a doctor for a blood HCG test and may be ultrasound examination.

: Bleeding with medical abortion is at least as heavy and long duration as a period bleeding. You passed blood clots so chance of success is very high although you have not seen the fetal tissue. You should let us know how long was the pregnancy?  If you have any doubt, see your doctor after 2 weeks.
