Needs Evaluation: The cleaning most likely caused some bleeding causing a blood clot and blocking the canal. You should go back to your physician and have him/her reevaluate your daughter and remove the blood clot.  They should check the ear drum as well and make sure there isn&#x27;t any injury.

See your doctor: This is a specialized problem and usually your ear does not bleed so i think leaving it alone is not a good idea.  Also I am not sure you know it is a blood clot witout a proper exam.  So in all cases you should see a specialist.

Needs exam: Sometimes old blood drains from the ear canal long after it first formed.  A mild external ear infection could cause some light bleeding.  Either way the ear likely needs to be cleaned out and evaluated.  I would recommend an ent, or your family doctor take a look.

Best to Ask: I have always flushed with peroxide. If there are no tubes or holes in the eardrum.Do not insert anything such as a cuetip.Best to ask your doctor. And most likely if you leave it alone, the blood will come out naturally.

Med eval: Check for signs of infection: ^'ed redness, warmth, swelling. ^'ed tenderness, pus, red streaking, swollen lymph nodes or fever. Recommend keeping piercing in place  unless directed by Dr (if removed – drainage tract will close up w ^'ed risk of abscess formation). Call Dr for medical evaluation. Your Dr may prescribe oral antibiotics or antibiotic ointments to apply to piercing site.

Perforated TM: Sounds like they might have perforated her tympanic membrane (ear drum) with instrumentation. Managed with antibiotic ear drops for contaminated wounds, water precautions (keeping water out of the middle ear), and reevaluation to ensure that the perforation has healed. Have her ear evaluated by pediatrician.
