Oral blister: Orajel, anbesol, or viscous Lidocaine (prescription item) would all make sense. They tend to help some but are not dramatic cures. If you see a doctor there are certain treatments s/he can try like silver nitrate application or cortisone injection.

Likely herpes: The blisters clustered around your mouth sound like oral herpes (hsv i virus). The salty water will not harm you, and if it gives some relief, it's fine. There are a few medicaments like abreva that shorten the course of the outbreak, or sometimes a viscous preparation of local anesthetic for the discomfort. The course is usually all gone by 12-14 days. Good luck!

Mouth blisters: Hand foot and mouth disease is caused by a virus, and usually goes away in 7-10 days.
The pain from mouth blisters can be helped by staying away from spicy and acidic foods and drinks (maintaining a bland diet). 
Check with your dentist or medical doctor about pain meds (tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil).
Orabase ointment can be applied to the blisters before meals. It is non-prescription and sticks to the mouth.

Maybe: Usually a newborn has immunity to some of these viral strains because the mother likely had it as a kid &amp; transfers a few months worth of protection. I would avoid contact if possible as it passes in oral secretions or poop. I never saw it that young in 4 decades as a pedi.
