Moisturizer: Your skin must have gotten irritated by the chemical, use a thick moisturizer such as vaseline and over the counter Hydrocortisone cream. If it does not work in a day or 2 seek medical help for stronger medications.

The skin damage is due to overexposure to a harsh chemical and surface trauma. Need to heal: Do you use latex gloves? They can be irritating as well. If painful and angry red could be infected.  Generic bactroban (mupirocin) is the safest topical antibiotic. Topical vit d 3 oil on the irritated skin can be helpful.  Avoid irritants until it heals by using non-latex gloves if in food preparation. Use plain soap and water for cleaning hands.
