The Blastoma is a tumor thought to arise in embryonic tissue and becomes associated with part of the name of the organ from which  it was derived such as neuroblastoma, glioblastoma.

Difficult to say: It all depends on many factors( the exact location of the tumor, surgical excision, and the postoperative course). This question is best for your sons neurosurgeon. But  some patients have some siginificant improvements from intensive speech therapy.
