ive been struggling for a week now with chronic pain in my stomach, sometimes my back even hurts. not sure if its bladder infection, severe constipation, stress or something more severe? ive tried medication but it wont go away.

ER/UC clinic-NOW: any abdominal pain which penetrwtes towrd the back is both suspicious and dangerous. Please have someone trasport you to the ER or uC clinic.

IgM level: Is unlikely to explain your recurrent urinary issues or constipation.

can amoxicillin cause dehydration and kidney infection or bladder infection or uti and constipation and stomach pain?

Accepted Answer

No: Amoxicillin may be given to a sick person that has or develops one or more of these issues but it does not cause them. Dehydration is caused by inadequate fluid intake. Infections are caused by germs. Constipation or stomach pain are vague symptoms with many possible causes but I put amoxicillin on the bottom of any such list.

a few weeks ago i had a severe bladder infection where i was peeing blood. was put on ciprofloxacin 500mg but then apo-sulfatrim ds 800mg/160mg for a week. since then, no bladder concerns but quite constipated (pebble poop) since. related/concern?

: Diarrhea is more common after antibiotic treatment. However I see no cause for concern at this time. If you have no urge for a BM  try taking a gentle stimulant like senokotS according to instructions. Drink lots of fluids,eat fiber like veggies &amp; fruits. Honeymoon cystitis: Young  woman who recently sexually active will get cystitis , called honeymoon cystitis , if you fit into this category . Unlike man's urethra in female is very short , bugs will easily traverse with mild trauma, spermicides , diaphragm , dryness precipitate , you will be fine will not affect getting pregnant , drink lots of fluid , cranberry juice , some times need antibiotics , speak to your md.

?Sex, ?hygiene: Could be: you don't urinate after sex and go to sleep with a full bladder, use bubble-bath or take tub baths rather than shower, wipe wrong way, don't spread your thighs when urinating + thus trapping urine behind labia, withhold urge to void, wear thongs or non-cotton underwear, are constipated or are menopausal. All or any of the above could make you prone tro utis.

Nothing wrong w/ you: Recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) isn't rare, but if you're not seeing a doctor, do so to make sure that's the problem. Often easily prevented. Sex is a common trigger; sex massages UTI bacteria into the urethra. Diaphragm raises risk. Antibiotiic after sex or an antbiotic dose once a week can be helpful. Consider seeing an infectious diseases specialist for detailed advice. Good luck!

While this is not: The usual sign, seeing the gyn or urologist about the potential causes of uti's make sense, and a pap can be done.  Some might suggest that recurrent UTI may be associated with perineal hygiene and multiple sexual partners. Discuss this with your gynecologist, no easy fix or answer on the inernet.

Frequent UTI's: People with recurrent uti's need to be evaluated by a urologist (u) to see if they have an obstruction of their urinary outflow tract. A renal ultrasound will be done first. If that does not give the answer of why you have these frequent uti's, other tests will be ordered. Your u can give you the a diagnosis and a treatment plan to resolve your problem. Good luck.

See below: Sometimes sexual activity in women will precipitate a bladder infection(honeymoon cystitis).  Incompletely emptying the bladder when voiding can lead to recurrent infections.  In many there is no recognized cause.  Long term antibiotic prophylaxis is used in some patients with frequent recurrences. The antibiotics commonly used for prophylaxis are septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) and norfloxacin.
