Many ways : To treat a wart. But warts are generally flesh colored or a vaiant so i would confirm with a doctor that the lesion you are treating is indeed a wart.

That's normal: You may have to re-treat.  Sounds like there's a bit of the wart left.  Warts often appear as you described, due to coagulated blood in the tiny vessels in the wart.

kid had a wart on his toe. wart came off by itself, but there are still a few black dots under the skin. should i apply salicylic acid treatment to prevent wart returning, or leave it alone?

: I would. The black dots are "roots" of the wart that draw in its needed nourishment. A wart can re-establish from a minimal presence. I would apply this until no black dots are seen.

Hard bump: You didn't say where the bump is as sometimes that helps.  It may still be a wart even without the black dot.  See your podiatrist for assistance .

my 16 y/o son has had a bump on the top of his foot for a while. he showed it to us the other day and we have been treating w/ an otc salicylic based wart treatment for a couple weeks. it appears to have gotten a bit smaller but is black and bumpy?

: If your son has not been seen by a primary care doctor or a dermatologist, I would start there. I would not presume that the lesion is a wart and I would not use medication on it unless it was prescribed by one of those doctors. Good luck.

my friend had a wart frozen off with liquid nitrogen on the heel of her foot. it turned into a loonie size blister. then, turned black and hardened. it has been 2 months now turning 3 months. should she be concerned?

Eschar : It appears that after cryo ulcerated area did not heal with primary method of normal skin. Instead it made a necrosed area, black and thick, an eschar. A doctor will need to help by removing this so normal skin can grow. It may be infected sometimes and may require antibiotics. I hope it helps.

No: The virus causing the warts on your toes remains in that location. I supose you could pass the virus if you spent time messing with the warts with your fingers & then touched baby with contaminated fingers. Leaving them alone & deciding to touch baby only after washing your hands can avoid a bunch of different germs including this one.

Yes - plantar wart: Warts can appear almost anywhere on the skin. There are many different types actually. What you describe sounds like a plantar wart - that you may have acquired walking barefoot in public baths/swimming pools/shower areas? Warts can easily be treated though and there are a number of over-the-counter remedies that can be tried. A doc with liquid nitrogen or a dermatologist can help too.

Possible: Your description would need more to tell, are they itchy, do they hurt if you squeeze them.
To be sure you need to see a podiatrist to diagnose & treat.

Warts: I would first try over the counter warts medications such as compound w and or dr scholl's cryo treatment to freeze them.  If you have no success then see a podiatrist.
