These should be watched over a period of time for any changes in their appearance for an assessment by your doctor if any steps need to be taken or treatment if indicated. Feel better

Show it to a Dr: Any black spot that is changing in color or growing in size needs to be checked by a medical or a dental professional(in your case). There is a small but real chance that it could turn into a melanoma, a type of Cancer. So get it checked...you may need a biopsy done if it is growing in size or dimensions.

Maybe amalgam tattoo: It could be an amalgam tattoo.  They are fairly common.  Amalgam fillings can turn the gum tissue gray or blackish.  A quick visit to your dentist wouldn&#x27;t hurt.  They would be able to figure it out or refer you to a specialist if needed.  Hope this helps!

Probably a bruise: A dark spot on the gum appearing shortly after dental work may be due to an "bruise" of the gum.  A spontaneous dark area on the gum, or a dark spot after dental work which does not go away within a few weeks should be investigated by a doctor.  RARELY, melanoma or other cancers can appear this way.

Doubtful: Anesthetic needles do not fracture in that manner. It may be a small piece of tooth, part of a broken filling, or the sharp edge of the tooth socket. Please see the dentist who treated you to determine what this is and have it treated. No need to guess.
