Needs observation: Black stool can be from iron, but could also be sign of bleeding. If she has not have any upper endoscopy  and colonoscopy, it will be wise to consider. For simple testing , stop the iron pill for 5 days and do a stool guaiac test and a blood test

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Possibly: Bloating is typically a symptom that is related to distention or gas in the bowel. Hormone changes during menopause can effect the motility of the bowel and therefore result in bloating. This can also be a symptom of ovarian cancer so a person should be thoroughly evaluated to rule out more serious causes before saying it is hormonal or dietary related.

Directed lab work, imaging, biopsies, stool studies are appropriate in excluding non-ibs pathology.
